    Middle Age Love Affair

In this issue, the main story focuses on the relationship between Laurie ( Silk Spectre ) and Dan ( Nightowl ) . It starts off with them in the Owl Cave, Laurie accidently sets off a flamethrower looking for the cigarrette lighter.
Afterwards we see the two of them snuggeling up together and they watch the news. Afterwards they try to make love, unfortunately to no avail.  During the night we are Privey to a dream that Dan is having where it is revealed that his impotence is caused by a sense of helplessness, due to the chaos around him.
When Laurie finds him naked in the "Owl Cave" they decide to take the ship out and be vigilanties again. They manage to save a lot of people from a tenemant fire. Apparently this gets the blood running and afterwards they are able to finally consumate the relationship.
One thing this book is good at showing us is how, and why regular people would get dressed up in costumes to go out and try to make a difference. It is this insight that becomes the meat and potatoes of the book, with Dave Gibbons art acting as the gravy. I have said it in a review of an earlier issue, but his ability to pack a panel without losing any detail is amazing.
I have to admit that I identified with the whole, finding there is still fuel in the tank after spending years convincing yourself there wasn't. This is a new outlook on the book for me. One that makes it even better.
