    Bad ending

In this issue, well ... things really fall apart. I do not mean with the charcters either. I mean with the truck size holes Alan Moore seemed compelled to place into the story.  If Ozy only attacks New York, that would not stop an attack. Our enemies would realize it is a moment of weakness and take advantage of the situation.
Also , at the end of the day, no one would believe Rorschach. He is considered a nut job. There would be no reason for John to kill him.   On the other hand, he lets Ozy walk. Even knowing what he did, how he killed millions of people. There was no reason to punish Rorschach for his belief, and no reason for Ozy to be kept alive after what he did.
Also, don't you think that terrorist groups around the world would try to take credit?  If it were world wide, then it could be explained the way Veidt wanted it to be. The way it happened, it just doesn't make sense. This is still a great story. I just do not think the ending holds up to the rest of the series.

Last summer when I read it...I was shocked and speechless. It was like seeing 9/11 in a science-fiction format (no terrorists, but a crazed messiah - Ozymandias). The heroes failed to save New York City, Oz lives and imprisoned, and NOW there only three Watchmen left (two if you count Manhatten off planet). Then again, the late 80's were series with the Communists in the COLD WAR and was barely born at that time...but sometimes not all stories have a 'happy ever after' as they are given the opposite. ANYTHING crazy can be become good or bad.

      I love a realistic ending... 0

This is a bit of a review for all 12 issues, as a whole, of Watchmen. There are some I particularly like more than others, but this book works best as a whole. There is a reason people have called this, "The Citizen Kane of Comics". There's a reason it's on Times "100 Best Novels" list. I just can't believe it took me this long to read it.SPOILERS!I'm engrossed in this world. These characters are all so interesting. Each one, for the most part, has these horrible quirks that I find so appealing. ...
