The Greatest Graphic Novel of all time 1

No comic in history has had as much impact.  It is the Graphic Novel it is assumed you have read at least once if you are a "mature" comic reader.  Watchmen is the book that made Alan Moore the star he is today.  But the book itself had a life of its own, Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons just put it to paper.   The legends of the creation of watchmen are really a magical story on its own, but it is best to read or hear what Dave Gibbons had to say about the magic of watchmen and its  F...

Why "The Avengers" Shouldn't Work 0

This is a modern masterpiece of storytelling - no one should ever doubt that. Even if one does not like all the content, or Moore's abundance of grey (this is Alan Moore we are talking about, after all), Watchmen is so layered, so well-constructed, so full ... it cannot be doubted that it is a masterpiece of storytelling. That isn't all that is affecting N...

    My absolute favorite comic 16

Watchmen is considered one of greatest and most influential comics ever made. It examines the idea of superheroes on a psychological and political level as it breaks down the idea of what superheroes stand for and why do they do the things they do. Watchmen is set in alternate version of the 1980s where costumed heroes exist and helped the US win Veitnam War and where some these costumed heroes are forced into retirement. The story begins with the death of the Comedian and something larger is in...
