Genetically altered by Ant-Man (Henry Pym), Janet Van Dyne gained the ability to alter her size, fly at rapid speeds, and fire bio-electric energy "stings". Calling herself "Wasp", she became Pym's superhero partner. Later, she became a founding member and the first female member of the Avengers.
Just read Avengers #31 and if I'm not mistaken I believe Janet Van Dyne could be returning. You don't see her face, but her eyes and hair matches that of Janet.
With her ability to shrink, it does make sense that she could have escaped her death by shrinking into the Microverse or Inner Space as they call it in the issue.
Actually thinking back to the Marvel NOW: Avengers Panel or maybe it was Marvel NOW: All New X-Men. I think they kind of gave away that, that was Hope. I still 'hope' it's Janet tho. Heh heh.
Though I liked the movie, to me, the Avengers aren't just Iron Man, Cap, Hulk, and Thor. What really brought the series to life and made it interesting was Hank, Janet, Wanda, Vision, Clint, and Pietro - they worked better as an ensemble and ended up complimenting the other 4 because there was more of an emotional stake in all the action.
I can happily announce that Janet Van Dyne AKA Wasp has returned and apparently she was ALIVE all this time.

Glad to see her back. I don't quite understand the whole thing about Pym saying it was her either, but then again this is Pym. The guy who stuck his tongue down Jocasta's throat in Mighty Avengers #26 out of desperation.

I don't hear Scarlet Witch getting this kind of backlash from people. She had a long term relationship with Vision.
