This is a new web comic by Warren Ellis. It's going to be weekly and it's completely free! Here's some of what Ellis has to say in his Bad Signal:

"So welcome to Whitechapel, some years from now, just barely above ground in a flooded England. (I pored over speculative floodmaps to see what’d stay above water if the Thames burst its barriers.) Whitechapel is, among other things, home to a clan of unrelated young people with purple hair and purple eyes: the Freakangels of the title. And the Freakangels have a secret: something bad is their fault."

It's gonna be awesome! I can't wait to see what it's all about.

Post disaster story? Hmmm...sounds interesting but now I wanna know if they're responsible for the disaster. Never tried web based comics before but why not?

Me either, but this should be sooooo good. I subscribe to a lot of Ellis's stuff and he posted a page from the comic on the Engine (which sadly closes tomorrow, I'm heartbroken as I only just found it). Here's the only page available at the mo (eepness I hope he doesn't mind me shamelessly advertising his comic - READ THE THING!!!)

OH that looks scarily like post-Katrina New Orleans. Now I have to check it out.

Hmmmm......sounds cool. I like the stories that keep you guessing.

Plus I lived for a while in the Tower Hamlets area of London so I'm fascinated to see how he does Whitechapel

The art is beautiful already. I love the one of KK in her gyrocoptor

Plus it's nice to get some Ellis for free too. Love the guy, he's one of the best (if not the best) writers out there.

It's nice to know that people want to showcase their stuff for free. That's what a good community is all about. This artist is going to get good karma for sure.

So, From the avatars and pages and flooded cities I've seen, I'm gonna like it. How does a web comic work....do you just put your e-mail in an then when a new thing comes out you'll get it for free? Sounds cool...
