A few things are making me think that this is Warpath's last stand:
A. The cover of course. Selene has Warpath in her grasp. Some people thought that was Elixir, but then I saw the picture again. Elixir isn't a buff guy.
B. He's taking charge here. Wolvie's got the back seat. This is making me wonder if he'll be of any use in Second Coming.
C. "One Will Sacrifice." The Second Coming teaser. Rahne, Vanisher and Warpath aren't on the cover. Vanisher's probably going to bail from X-Force after Necrosha, and Rahne? Well she's pregnant but I doubt the wolf of her dreams would sell his soul to have goldie heal her...only for her to die. What a buzzkill. So why...why is Warpath not on the cover?
I'm not a huge supporter of James Proudstar, but I have respect for him in general. So if he died, I'd at least hope it'd be in one heroic move.
Thoughts?
Warpath
Character » Warpath appears in 2293 issues.
James Proudstar, known as Warpath, is a mutant of Apache descent who has been affiliated with many X-Teams over the years starting with the Hellions.
Will He Survive Necrosha?
A. he is on the cover. something tells me he does something dynamic. but not because he's on that cover...
(the end to this is really predictable btw)
B. its a homage cover. it has no relevance to the story inside. its meant to look like the movie poster
fro Bram Stokers Dracula. Warpath fit the bill with his lovely long black hair to stand in as Winona Ryder.lol. this is the actual cover..
C. thats a teaser for the Second Coming event, not the Necrosha one.
Warpath is on the teaser for Second Coming
Rahne's pregnant, maybe she's going to be out for a while, but not dead.
Elixir knows something about Hope (remember Messiah War?) so I doubt he's going to be killed off now. Besides if Wither happens to survive Necrosha, why shouldn't Josh?
As for Warpath, he may be a friend of Cable's, but he's looking like the most likely candidate to get thwacked at the end of Necrosha.
how so? you surmise because one panel of a comic only has certain characters are dead, means that any others not in that preview are dead? by your logic Magneto is dead. by your logic according to the preview art, the original first class team of the x-men are somehow back as well. the difference in mine is theyre actually correct. Warpath is on the cover for Second Coming, so he doesnt die in Necrosha.
the cover is a homage to Dracula, and is a variant, much like the other movie ones.
" @Baddamdog:Yes but when you look deeper into that ONE panel it shows the remaining X-Factor members being left behind while the other members are out on a mission, yet some are not pictured. And also artists all the time use a character on a cover that's already died to prevent spoilers or people from guessing who's died. Just like the covers after Wolf Cub died. And also it was just an observation, just trying to add to the thread.

Warpath does not die in Necrosha, because Warpath is actually in Second Coming. your using reference material for Second Coming as a basis for what happens in Necrosha. doesnt work like that either.
the idea in the thread is that
Warpath is dead because...
1. he doesnt appear on the solicit for Second Coming, the event after Necrosha (which is wrong, because he is right there)
2. he is on a cover of a comic. (i dont need to explain why this logic doesnt work. by this logic every character that ever existed is dead)
3. in the ads for Second Coming the solicit is " One Will Die" (again, this logic does not stand because its an ad for the event that comes after necrosha, therefore it is not an ad for what happens in Necrosha.
this logic is like seeing a sales flyer for K-Mart and deciding that means the same item must be on sale
at Home Depot.)
To be fair, I've been dreading Warpath's death at the end of Necrosha for some time (check out the main Necrosha thread). All the evidence and logic seems to point towards him being the one to die:
Wolverine: Too popular to kill
Domino: Already seen in solicits for other titles & again, too popular
Archangel: Seen in other solicits
Elixir: Has some sort of special information on Hope, so will play some sort of role in Second Coming
X-23: Too popular to kill
Wolfsbane: Recently survived a brush with death, is pregnant with Asgardian puppies so it's unlikely they'd kill her off before they're born.
Vanisher: Just survived a brush with death (I wonder if Josh fixes his arm?) and is now seen in Second Coming solicits.
The only thing that prevented Warpath's death sooner was because they needed to resolve the storyline of his tribe being resurrected. Now that's coming to an end, there's nothing to stop him from being killed.
We all know that covers aren't any true indication of what will happen story-wise. However, if you look at the majority of Necrosha: X-Force/Vampire variant covers then Warpath is the main figure in a surprising amount of them; three out of seven! That's a lot considering the rest focus on Selene or Wolverine. So Warpath is a big part of this story, not just because he fought the Demon Bear a couple of years ago. And what would make him a bigger part of it...? If he dies tragically at the end, trying to save the others just like his brother had done previously.
And yes, he does appear on the cover to the Second Coming preview cover. But he doesn't appear in the X-Force teaser image. We've already said that covers don't prove a thing, and it might just be a red herring to throw him into the mix. In the Second Coming preview Wolverine is brooding over the loss of a friend, but he isn't gender specific.... what if that friend is Warpath??
" I really hope he does survive. I like Warpath! "Same here (although I suspect I like him in different ways to you ;)
no kidding. your telling me i am not allowed to provide my opinion because
it isnt yours? and im not saying Warpath dies in Necrosha?
'will he survive Necrosha?'
no kidding. im saying he wont die in Necrosha.
as to whether he dies in Second Coming is an entirely different discussion.
" @Baddamdog:I'm just saying it's rude too merely dismiss and undermine someone else's idea, which YOU did initially, And the only reason I brought up the title of blog was to negate your reasoning for using the first post!

I'll thank you BOTH to stop talking about other Viners like this NOW. If you want to take the moral high ground, then don't insult others. Take it away from the public forums.
" @xerox-kitty: Vanisher didn't die? "
