Two of Warner Bros. most famous cartoon artists were Chuck Jones and Tex Avery. They are known for creating characters in the Looney Toons and Merry Melodies cartoons, to include MGM's Tom & Jerry, and Paramount Pictures Popeye. The brothers Harry, Albert, Sam, and Jack were the founders of Warner Bros. They started of with their first theater, the Cascade in 1903 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Warner Bros. was founded in 1904 in Pittsburgh under the name Duquesne Amusement & Supply Company. They began producing films by the time World War I came around. In 1918 the opened Warner Bros. studio on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
