This comic was originally published in September, 1963.
The story begins with a British infantry unit led by Sergeant Ford caught between the British and German lines in 1944 France. There is conflict between Ford and Corporal Rafferty. Not many men in the unit like Ford. The unit had been tasked to hold a bridge, but had failed. With their officer dead they had retreated, a failure for which Ford was blamed. Ford, refusing to explain his actions, was put under arrest.
Although they dislike Ford, his men consider his punishment unjust, and Rafferty goes before the battalion commander to tell him the truth of what happened at the bridge.
The rest of the story is told in a flash back. The platoon commander caused the bridge position to be lost. Ford covered for him as the young man was the battalion commander's son. When the truth comes out the commander apologizes to Ford and commends his loyalty to his son.
