Ever since Brian Buccellato and Francis Manapul announced they were leaving THE FLASH and moving on to DETECTIVE COMICS, we've been wondering who the new creative team would be. Christos Gage took on one issue and Buccellato will be returning for three.

Today, DC has announced the new creative team of Robert Venditti and Van Jensen with art by Brett Booth starting in April's THE FLASH #30.

That is all super exciting news in itself. But it actually gets better.

THE FLASH #30 is on sale April 23 but one week later, in THE FLASH ANNUAL #3, we'll see the reintroduction of Wally West into the New 52.

Crazy.

Ugh, Brett Booth.

Barry is probably staying as Flash. Wally will likely get a unique adult identity, like Nightwing / Aresenal / Tepest / Troia, or inherit the Impulse name that Bart hasn't used in the New 52.

God i hope they don't push Barry aside to have Wally back as the Flash

I loved Buccellato/Manapul.

But Venditti is okay. I honestly I don't like Booth's art very much...

and hopefully Barry isn't pushed aside just for Wally's return ... -.-

Hmmmm. Vendetti is writing GL too, and he's writing Flash in April. Maybe now we can get some Barry and Hal team up stories.

I am scared. I hated what they did with Bart and his history, can't imagine what they will do for Wally.

Wow, interesting theory you have there...I'm not sure how I would feel about that. Not against it but also not for it. Gotta let it settle in first.

@jorok_goldblade: I can i hope so. I always found wierd that all sidekicks got the independent allias but Wally just went to Kid Flash to The Flash. But i always fear, if he appears Barry Allen is take down from action.

As long as Barry doesn't get pushed aside or killed off for dumb reasons I'm alright with it.

Seriously, the guy was dead for 23 years, it was nice to have him be The Flash again without Wally being there.

I can't get too excited about Wally's return just yet, though. I need to see how it's handled. I'm hoping he's a man out of time, but that blue/white preview pic makes it look like they might "Jason Todd" him and make him a troubled street kid. Right now, all I can do is hope for the best.

DC's giving Flash fans what they want! Now let's see if the "New 52 Whiners," as I call them, actually buy the issue.

About damn time. I'm not a huge DC fan, outside of Batman (and related titles). But Wally West was one of the few exceptions.

Picking up Flash now.
