Though promoted as issue #1, this is actually the 31st issue of Vulcan; the first 30 issues were released only in Scotland and unnumbered, testing the viability of a reprint title featuring several colour strips and printed at the same size as imported U.S. comics. This is the first nationally released issue and the first numbered issue, despite the strips within continuing on mid-story from the Scotland-only Vulcan issues.
