    A pitch-perfect end

Vision has been one of the best series I have read in a long time. It's an instant classic. The writing has such a perfect, measured pace, every word chosen exactly, the rhythm selective, the echoes from beginning to end carefully reflected back and forth. The characters are deep and human and mysterious and clear. The art is atmospheric and evocative and revealed details about the characters that we wouldn't have seen otherwise. The coloring matched and deepened the art. The covers were amazing, my favorite being issue 11. The seemingly throwaway details of the series were great, from the vase from Zenn-La to the Simon Williams movie of Omega the Unknown.

This has been a perfectly encapsulated series, full of warmth and humanity. It recalls to my mind the experience of reading such classics as Mage: The Hero Discovered or Moonshadow, or in more recent years the great Elektra solo series or even (yes) Superior Foes of Spider-Man, all limited series that delved into humanity in all its failures, and into the beautiful, terrifying, or inadequate souls of their characters just as this one did. Its finite quality let it have a beginning and an end, let its characters grow and fail and succeed, let its themes come to resolution. It understood the challenges and joys of family like few other comics.

Do yourself a favor and check out the Vision.
