    Virgilio “Virgil” Redondo y Puruganan was a comic book writer, artist and novelist. He was the eldest of eight children, including his brother Nestor Redondo a fellow comic book artist.

    He started as a staff and advertising artist. He published his komik serial Mahiwagang Bundok in 1948.

    Virgilio Redondo also worked for Marvel Comics on such titles as Planet of the Apes, Unknown Worlds of Science Fiction, Savage Sword of Conan, The Tomb of Dracula, Tales of the Zombie and Vampire Tales.
