    Ok, so I'm still a newbie when it comes to comic books. Actually, I'd only read a handful of Spider-Man comics when I picked up this book and I wasn't really familiar with Venom's story and all that probably contributes quite a bit to my confused feelings towards this volume.  On one hand, I liked that it was a story from Venom's perspective about how he came to be and I also liked that it was a stand-alone volume (which means it was quick to read the whole thing).
