Vengeance of MoonKnight #4: The more things change...

MoonKnight is back using the persona of Jake Lockley. Unfortunately his high profile return has attracted a lot of attention, namely Norman Osborn who hired the Mark to figure out a way to take care of him. The Mark has the Hood resurrect the one man who allegedly killed MoonKnight’s mortal coil that is Mark Spector.

Enter the resurrection of the Bushman who proceeds to release inmates of Ravencroft asylum and led a rampage of terror that attracted the loony moony super hero.

When Jake can’t get his pilot, an old familiar friend arrived. The more things change, the more they stay the same. They successfully stopped the street carnage causing havoc but unfortunately the Scarecrow entered the mix. Blotting out the sky with birds and cutting off MK's escape.

This is it. This is the beginning of Moon Knight’s run through the gauntlet of terror. Will he lose his sanity in the process? Hurwitz had the benefit of Opena who really knew how to draw an adventurous comic book. His facial expressions could use a little more information. He seemed to always have that sadistic zoom up smile before something sadistic is done to someone.

Hurwitz is writing Batman: Knightfall by bringing together several of MoonKnight’s foes together in a mindless brawl it out epic. There’s no dimension to his insanity. I also fear the glowing eyes in one of the panels could signify that Khonshu is for real. I really hope he stays away from that.

Rating: Borrow it. Visuals are great but there’s very little depth to this story and the battle hasn’t even heated up.
