    Origin

Veilmist was born into a masochist world, where women were only for breeding while the men did all else. She had even been experimented on by her scientist father, giving her the ability of teleportation. A clever girl and one of the few Khund females to truly see the opportunity to rise from her rank, Veilmist decided to use her beauty and abilities to her advantage. In Khundish law, whenever a Khund man kills another in combat, he inherits his wife. After being chosen by her husband, Veilmist used her charm and the promise of her transit power to trick another, more wealthy male into killing her mate. Veilmist then became the wife to the more affluent Khund, repeating the process until she had managed to make four different Khunds kill each other so that she could rise in social status on Khundia.

Her latest husband had been Firefist, a cybernetic enhanced warrior in the Khund military. When Firefist was deployed by the army to assist the Legion of Super-Heroes in defeating Mordru's army of undead, Veilmist left with him. She was even deputized with Firefist and the other Khund warriors as a show of faith to the Khund people. While most of her Khund teammates despised the Legionnaires and wished they could kill them, Veilmist was up to her old tricks and was quickly seducing the powerful male members of the Legion, especially Ultra Boy. This caused intentional tension between Firefist and Ultra Boy, Veilmist wishing to leave Firefist for the Legionnaire. The conflict between the two men continued throughout the whole of the battle, until word came that Firefist had been killed in a fight with the undead.

Distraught that by Khundish law she may now be betrothed to a zombie, Veilmist was delighted instead of enraged to find that the adorable Devlin O'Ryan's reflex power had accidentally been the death of Firefist. Veilmist was overjoyed by her actual fate, proclaiming the unwilling Devlin her new husband. Despite her appreciation for being betrothed to Devlin, she continued to flirt with Ultra Boy in the hopes that he would kill Devlin and take her for his wife.

Upon the end of the mission and the return to Khundia, Veilmist was taken by the Khund military. She was informed that her husband, Devlin, was actually a minor and therefore the marriage was annulled. Veilmist was now, by default, property of the Khund army and forced back into service. It was an action she was clearly unhappy about, wishing to remain with the powerful Legion and the Legion ironically wishing for her to stay as well for her useful teleportation ability. Veilmist ultimately learned that the Khunds had retrieved Firefist's body and that he was actually alive, restoring their marriage.

Despite that, Veilmist was determined to move up from Firefist to Ultra Boy. When the Khunds next encountered the Legionnaires, Veilmist consistently hesitated, but ultimately obeyed Firefist's commands. Later, in panic, she offered to assist them in collecting the bombs to save Weber's World if Ultra Boy would take her away from Firefist. Tired of her disloyalty, Firefist turned on his wife and shot Veilmist to death. Her date of death was marked January 2nd, 2996 and she was cursorily presumed dead by Brainiac 5.

    Powers and Abilities

    Teleport

Veilmist had the ability of teleportation. She was able to transport mass amounts of individuals from one location to another in the blink of an eye. She did not have to see where she was teleporting to transport people but needed to have in mind a close approximation distance-wise where she'd like to place those she transported.
