Every month we take a look at Valiant’s sales numbers. Here’s a breakdown for January 2015.

2. The Valiant #2, 11623 units
3. Rai #6, 8301 units
4. X-O Manowar #32, 7042 units
5. Quantum and Woody Must Die #1, 5771 units
6. Unity #14, 5722 units
7. Q2: The Return of Quantum and Woody #4, 4606 units
8. Eternal Warrior: Days of Steel #3 4489 units
9. The Death Defying Dr. Mirage #5, 3915 units

Overall, the numbers are pretty much in line with what we saw in December with most of the titles selling about as well as they did the previous month. There was quite a drop in sales for The Valiant but that is to be expected as #1 issues generally well much better than following installments. As should be expected, Ivar, Timewalker #1 sold quite well at nearly 16k units making it the top book of the month.

While the numbers may still look low to many readers, take into considering that Valiant’s market share rose to 0.94% in January, up from 0.91% in December and 0.73% in November 2014. This is very important considering Valiant only published 9 titles per month, a number that pales in comparison to the big three (DC, Marvel, and Image) and is small even when compared to the rest of the top 10. That list looks as follows:

11. Other non-Top 10, 3.89%

What should be really interesting is how sales end up after April when all the Valiant Next titles are released and we have a strong lineup of at least 7 ongoing titles.
