Rising Temputatures
Alright, so now that I've calmed down from the last issue, I've kind of accepted Irving's artwork as pretty solid overall. Don't get me wrong, it's not nearly as good as Bachalo's work, but it's certainly enjoyable in its own right. I just wish it wasn't so dark all the time; it occasionally becomes really hard to tell what's going on.
That being said, the story really starts to pick up here. Admittedly, there's a lot of establishing what's going on and the "rules" of Limbo, more or less, but patience pays off here with some pretty cool fight scenes and some exciting developments on SHIELD's end, with a pretty interesting development that I'm not sure anyone foresaw. There's nothing particularly fantastic about this one, but it keeps the readers well invested, and we get to see some more great development with characters. And there's always some really funny scenes to be had. Not to mention, this book is pretty damn clever sometimes; this book has a really nice moment with the Cuckoo Sisters that was smart, fun, and worked well for the story.
Looking forward to seeing how this all ends.
