An Operation, a Funeral and a Earthquake 0
First off this was a good first issue. It introduces the players in the new series and gave us a taste of what is to come. The writing and artwork are solid and the events of the issue are well paced giving the issue a good flow throughout. Synopsis: In this issue, we see Charles Xavier`s funeral and the new enemy; Red Skull who has Professor X`s brain. Yeah... pretty creepy. It looks like he has assembled a new group of super villains (The Goat-Faced Girl, the Insect, etc, but I was mostly fascinated with Avalanche. After checking out Marvel's first Marvel Now! title, it is truly visible that the company is ushering in bold new ideas. Uncanny Avengers does indeed live up to its promise of meshing Avengers and X-men together. Cap is definitely feeling somewhat responsible for the AVX event and this is his way of reaching out to mutants. I was one of the many people who was excited to buy this issue when i first saw the idea. After all, i love Havok, Rogue, and Scarlet Witch. It brings up a great question. First issue of the new series coming out of Avengers Vs. X-Men, and is the first issue to be released from the Marvel NOW! concept. In all honesty, I haven't been keeping up on Avengers vs. X-Men. I know what happens from reading about it online, but I haven't bought any of the issues since issue 7. I felt that the series was too focused on the fights, and not the story. But man am I thankful for this issue. It filled in all the gaps about AVX that I didn't know. It really is a good place to start reading. Plus, I loved the villain reveal on the last page!...

Yes, I sided with the X-men. Cyclops, Iceman, and Colossus are bad@$$, Emma is pretty, and Namor joining was quite fitting. Here it is, the culmination of what AvX was leading to. A team built by Captain America to represent both sides of the conflict and work together to achieve at least some of what Charles Xavier dreamed. I was honestly shocked by the book.
