Ultraforce was a team of those with superhuman powers, called "ultras" in the Malibu's Ultraverse. They appeared in several comic books published by Malibu, and later Marvel, as well as an animated series produced by DIC.
History

With the purpose to protect the public and keep other Ultras from getting out of line, Contrary assembled a team of powerfull ultras: The original members consisted of the super-strong Prime; Topaz the silver skinned warrior queen of Gwendor; the hero known as Prototype who is Ultra-Tech's armored spokesperson; the smart talking walking undead Ghoul, the last surviving member of the Exiles; Hardcase, one of the first public Ultras, The young computer genius Pixx. The mysterious Contrary, provided their technology and assigned them their missions.
Post-Black September
After the event known as "Black September" , at this time Marvel Comics purchased Malibu, the Ultraforce was re-created into a new team. Membership later changed when the Marvel/Malibu universes temporarily fused Black Knight who took over as team leader. Pixx died when saving the others from an explosion, sacrificing herself for their survival. Hardcase and Contrary were removed from the team, and from the memories of their former teammates. Prototype (Jimmy Ruiz) was also removed, though he was replaced by his predecessor in the Prototype armor, Bob Campbell. New members included the mysterious Lament and Wreckage. This series lasted only 15 issues and ended after the Malibu line was terminated by Marvel and the characters have not been used since.
Godwheel: Earth-TRN161

Last remnant of a world created by the living seventh Infinity Gem, Nemesis, the Earth of this reality wound up in the Godwheel following Nemesis' defeat. On this world, Ultraforce consisted of several counterparts of Earth-616 characters and some of the remnants of the pre-Black September Ultraverse.
The heroes represented in this reality were the Janet Van-Dyne of this world, who's husband Dr.Pym was killed and she adopted the name Black Widow and became a hardened leader. An African American Quicksilver who continued being the teams speedster. Topaz was also a member however her attire and history were altered a bit. Alec Swan who at one time was given a super-serum that enhanced his physique, lifespan and senses, then took the alias Black Knight. Thor was also present but he appeared more genuine in this attire and manners.
This group of Ultraheroes pledged to police their own, the heroes of Ultraforce are heroes of a forgotten experiment, a reality created and discarded. When the villainous Mantra killed industrialist J.D. Hunt, they tracked her down and battled her in a conflict that left her dead, accidentally killed at the hands of Prototype.
