    Originally a group of supersoldiers recruited by Nick Fury as a means of defending the world and protecting America's best interests under the department of Homeland Security. The team at one point distanced themselves from the US government to deal with threats independently but have recently joined back up with S.H.I.E.L.D. Now they serve as the ultimate team to fight any and all disturbances in the Marvel Universe.

    Okay, so I was kind of bored with my hold slot this week and wanted some additional stuff to read. I picked up the New Ultimates 1-4 & Ultimate Avengers 3. I didn't think Ultimate Avengers by Millar was that great but I did really enjoy Loeb's work on the New Ultimates.  
     
    That brings me to a few questions that I have. It's been quite a few years since I read any Ultimates titles. My last venture was probably around the time when Hawkeye's family was murdered and Black Widow turned out to be a spy. Ultimatum sounded like it wasn't worth 2 cents so here I am today with some questions. 
     
    1.Why is Ultimate Black Panther mute? 
    2.How long have Ka-Zar & Shanna been on the team? 
    3.Does Carol Danvers have any abilities or is she just a bad ass spy type? 
    4.What major heroes & villains in the Ultimates-verse bit the bullet during Ultimatum? 
     
    Just a few questions and I hope that my fellow viners can help me out!

    4. Wikipedia has a list :) CV probably does too.

    I am no expert but let's see what I can do. As FFTBB said he was Cap in disguise but the real Black Panther is also mute due to accident with his vocal chords that Weapon X could not repair.. IIRC Ka-Zar and Shanna first appeared in Ultimates 3 and became members of the New Ultimates in the new book.

    Thanks. I always forget about the Ultimate histories being under their 616 stuff. I read that he had his throat slashed by an actual black panther. He & Cap are now on the team.

    I figured it out. It's the original. I always forget the Ultimate bios are at the bottom of the main character pages.
