A grief-stricken Peter Parker reels from the cruel hand of fate. Will he collapse in despair? Or will he learn the greatest lesson of them all? Be there as history is made!

Harry Osborn wakes up when his mother screams for him. He hurries towards her room but stops because the house seems to be on fire. When he discovers her burned corpse, a figure appears, shoots fire at him and flies away.

Aunt May is telling the police how a burglar came into their house. Uncle Ben tried to talk to him and calm him down but instead he was shot and the burglar fled. When Peter hears on the police radio that there's a suspect involved in another robbery he runs away, puts on his costume and finds him in an abandoned warehouse. They fight and when Peter sees his face, he realizes it's the same guy who he didn't stop they day before. Outside, the police is thinking of getting a SWAT team, when the burglar is thrown through a window on a rope, ready for the police to arrest him. Captain Stacy is surprised about this development.

Peter tells himself that he now knows what he has to do with his powers and that he understand the responsibility that comes with them. He swears to never let Uncle Ben down again, before capturing more criminals.
