This is the first book in the Tron: Betrayal series.  it starts off in 1983 where kevin flynn has created The Grid , a living virtual world with living programs within his computer hidden in his arcade . flynn has copied Tron over from the old ENCOM system to protect the new Grid. with flynn's son on the way he finds he can not travel back and forth as much , with this he constructs CLU 2  as a digital copy of his self to take care of the grid in his increasingly lengthy absences.  after many cy...
