This issue just kicked my ass!
Man did I need motivation for doing a new review, cause God knows it's been weeks since I layed down or even cared to do one. And my reason is simple, I ain't got much motivation! Sure there's been some good comics out lately but man this issue of The Thunderbolts just crossed the line! It's got everything I prayed for in my last Thunderbolts review(read last Thunderbolts review lol). From seeing Man-Thing kick ass, to seeing Luke Cage kicking ass, to seeing John Walker kick ass, to seeing Crossbones kick ass...well everyone kicked ass in this issue, even my main "compadre" The Juggernaut isn't humiliated by his powerloss and actually had his good moments in this issue like tricking two goons into trying to excape to actually get attacked by jellyfish. There's an action scene that nobody reading this would want to miss. Seeing John Walker, Songbird, and Luke Cage fighting against prisioners trying to escape. Gives me goosebumps as I read it and it's giving me them again as I remember it. There's a cameo appearance by Purpleman and guess who gets to kick his ass? I dont want to spoil that part ;)
Really the only flaw I saw on this issue was that we didn't get to see much of the Avengers Academy at all. I am curious to know and see actually how The Thunderbolts succeded into scaring them straight...
But overall this is actually the best comic i've read in a long while. If I'm not correct since Superman/Batman annual #4 I haven't been soo geeky about a comic book. And again, the artwork....it's simply amazing. I really would love a poster from this artist about The Thunderbolts in my wall. xD
And like IGN.com said : this comic just can't be recommended enough!
And I actually agree, if you want to start reading the Thunderbolts there's no doubt in my mind tha you will love this issue as much as I did. The only way that I wouldn't recommend this issue is simply if you like big name characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine, Hulk ,etc. and not uncommon known characters(excluding Juggernaut of course).
Enough about the geeking about this title(cause I just drooled myself...) Overall for this issue is 99. It's actually a 5/5 if you want the other grading.
hope this review helps out ,
cheers
