What do people think of the new Thor book?

Personally I enjoyed it, I love Ribic's art.

It was awesome. I miss the chainmail though, and that's really my only complaint.

I really like the issue and I am looking forward to the next. The "atmosphere" felt just right for a Thor book.

Honestly? It was perfect. I am super pumped for what's next. In my opinion, Thor has been downplayed a lot these past few years, and hasn't been quite as humble and God-like since JMS's run. He didn't say anything stupid in this comic, and I think Aaron really sees the true Thor and brings it out well.

@cmartin: define epic, if you mean creating rivers in a desert and old King Thor charging into an army all by himself does that count.

@jeanroygrant: If you mean creating the rivers then yes because it was current Thor who did that and he doesn't have the Odinforce at the moment.

I hope Ribic never leaves the book..

Only time will tell if I'll eventually feel the same way about Aaron. Definitely the best out of Marvel NOW! so far.

Coming from someone who's never particularly enjoyed a Thor book or even cared about Thor much as a character, I thought it was great and I'll definitely continue reading.

I also like when he speaks old English, but even so I think he's written well in this book.

It's still sophisticated and somewhat old-timey, but doesn't have the 'thy' and 'thee's.

Loved issue 1 save for some of the goofy faces early on. I had almost no hope for Aaron in this series considering how bad his Hulk run was and I am not fond of much of his writing outside of Wolverine and very few X-Men like Warbird, Shadowcat, Kid Omega and Iceman. He gave the right feel to Thor in every single timeline and the art on average was awesome. I do wish they would give Thor his chainmail back. I don't mind the new outfit at all as it is better than his original attire (not a huge fan of Thor's original appearance) but if he could armor like he did in the Avengers, I would be quite pleased.

finally...The God of Thunder has come back to the marvel Universe!!

A very solid beginning to this book, It really gave you a glimpse of who Thor was, past, present and future

    1) answering the little girls prayers was subtle but gave great insight into his abilities, and reminds you that he is a GOD

    2) "Did you say Ale?" Thor does love him some Ale, huh?

    3) The once and future kind charging into battle...brought a smile to my face as I thought.." Now, THAT is what THOR is all about"

Great first issue, sucked me in with a tasty mystery that spans centuries, No double page spreads of him shouting for the glory of asgard! or thing's like that

but the moments that where depicted where subtle but showed what he can do

Oh, and the art is AWESOME, THOR finally looks like Thor, dude is JACKED, his arms look amazing, like you know when he hits you with the hammer, it WILL hurt, no questions about it

The first issue was what I hoped it would be.. insanely amazing. The art speaks for itself, many of you who read it can agree, but the story line looks promising for this series. I will definitely continue reading this.
