New pictures have come out and it appears he had his head shaved. Here is a link to a picture gallery making the rounds: http://comicbook.com/marvel/2017/03/08/thor-3-ragnarok-images-photo-gallery/15

Overall I like the new look.

When you said shaved I thought you meant bald. He does look cool but I was hoping for a more aged and experienced look, if anything he looks younger now.

Yeah I'm pretty pissed I prefer goldilocks Thor.

Hela is looking fine as hell tho.

Cate blanchett is looking well for her age.

Or is that just make up?

Cate looks great, probably the makeup, giving her a gothy vibe. Tesa Thompson Valkyrie look is extremely bland and uninspiring. Not sure how I feel about the Thor now-I'm-all-grown-up-and-need-to-look-like-a-responsible-member-of-society 9 to 5 corporate office look.

I'm not really getting the corporate vibe from that haircut. I'm getting more of the 'got captured then had hair cut whether I liked it or not' vibe.

To some degree yes but there is a pic I saw of him that looked like he had a true full beard rather than the 'didn't shave for a couple weeks' type beard he usually has in the movies.

Get ready for.....Guardians of Thor Ragnarok Galaxy Part II.

Apparently when the script was first confirmed it was touted as "the darkest MCU film to date" and Feige stressed the importance of this film when Phase Three was announced. But recent developments have been trending in the direction of this film heading for GoTG territory with overt color schemes and humor. I just don't think that Disney/Marvel "get" Thor or Asgard. These films should've been Norse Vikings mythological action/adventure meets Lord of the Rings fantasy, not Star Wars sci-fi meets Twilight.

Well, Thor has kind of always combined the mythological, mystical and cosmic aspects of the Marvel Universe, so there's always been a bit of inconsistency on what gets emphasized depending upon the writer, which is probably why it's been so difficult for the the movies to get Thor "right". I really think their first, and main, mistake was shying away from establishing Thor and the Asgardians as gods, rather than aliens with some unspecified "advanced technology".

I agree, they never knew which direction to take them. It's why Asgard is so ill-defined and poorly developed. What makes them powerful? What makes them unique? What is their connection to Earth and why did humans worship them as some point? Okay, so they're just aliens? The first film at least mildly attempted to address these questions thematically, and Brannagh did give the movie more of the traditional mythological feel (albeit with much CGI), so there was an aura of intrigue for a bit where the viewer could maybe ask "maybe they are gods?" But then Avengers and Dark World happened and squished any of that potential.
