Thor
Character » Thor appears in 8598 issues.
Thor Odinson is the All-father of Asgard /God of Thunder, offspring of All-Father Odin & Elder-Goddess Gaea. Combining the powers of both realms makes him an elder-god hybrid and a being of no perceivable limits. Armed with his enchanted Uru hammer Mjolnir which helps him to channel his godly energies. The mightiest and the most beloved warrior in all of Asgard, a staunch ally for good and one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse/omniverse. Thor is also a founding member of the Avengers.
How powerful do you think this is?
@takenstew22: nah it's like this
except infinitely more impressive cuz flickering stars + space
How does this work? It isn't air pressure because he's in space, so is he going relativistic and acquiring such mass he's altering the gravity of the stars?

It looks like the same force that shatters the asteroids near him. Causing star surface to flicker should indicate quite the turbulent force considering how large those things are.
But Infinite Mass Mjolnir would be so memes
Impressive. It's from Aaron, no?
Yes.
@rajjarsalt: is that even possible? Like seriously how dose that even work? His in space right?
@rajjarsalt: is that even possible? Like seriously how dose that even work? His in space right?
I think it's just the pressure created by him tbh. Acts on any matter in the vicinity. No it shouldn't be possible but neither should punching someone out of orbit/through earth since drag makes that practically impossible.
@rajjarsalt: is this regular Thor or old king Thor?
@alphamon: Regular
@rajjarsalt: i mean asteroids in general aren´t that big caping at like high city size and making the stars flick could possible be in his perspective(?) because he is going that fast idk.
If it is legit is a very good feat. There is a cool one that i´m hesitating to atribute but in unwhorty Thor the collector says he has cranes that can move moons out of orbit and they can´t move ult mjolnir (which btw was going to destroy the solar system sised ship overtime) and Thor is attacked by some things that could be cranes but it´s not confirmed. Later Thor is able to lift a small part of regular mjolnir while not being whorty too.
Aaron genuinaly seem to be the writer who ironicaly made him to be the strongest he is ever been tbh.
@asgardianweapon: I mean the feat would be much greater since he isn't hitting them, I think
that said...I'll check that out :D
@rajjarsalt: if you could ask aaron if the things presented in the comic that strangled Thor and he cut the chains were said cranes would be cool too
tbh the feat is good we just don´t know how good it is
@rajjarsalt: It's pretty good, shows the power and speed Thor can acquire while travelling long distances, even if it shouldn't be scientifically possible, it's there.

perhaps his relativistic mass increases his gravity?

I doubt Aaron even thought of that, he probably just thought it'd be cool.

Ye true

So then stars "flicker" due to gravitational lensing. Asteroids shattering may be less impressive since it seems most, at least in our own solar system, are basically huge rubble piles held loosely together by their own gravity.
@rajjarsalt: is that even possible? Like seriously how dose that even work? His in space right?
Lol dude this is comics, what's even impossible?
@rajjarsalt: Hard to say what sizes are but even if this is in deep space thia is great range. I don't know about that star flickering thing. I think this is high feat
I love how Jason Aaron knows how to cleverly place feats across his story lines. And really does it in a not so direct manner unlike uhmmm......
Super Man Writers.
@humanprecursor9: i feel you i like this too
We should really just leave it as it is cause human science is to limited to understand stuff like this.

Multi Asteroid (2+)
Most of this ancient space rubble can be found orbiting the sun between Mars and Jupiter within the main asteroid belt. Asteroids range in size from Vesta—the largest at about 329 miles (530 kilometers) in diameter - to bodies that are less than 33 feet (10 meters) across. - NASA
10 to 530,000 = 265,010 m in Diameter. = 10m + 530,000m/2 = 265,010m
265km an Average asteroid in diameter
The mass of all the objects of the asteroid belt, lying between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, is estimated to be in the range of (2.8–3.2)×1021 kg, about 4% of the mass of the Moon. - Wikiepdia
3 = Average of 2.8-3.2
2 Asteroids of 3,000,000,000,000,000,000 Quintillion Tons. Each
Pluto mass = 10,300,900,000,000,000,000 Quintillion Tons
So almost Pluto level, considering 2 Asteroids
Taking away being a star level feat or something like that @lazarus4tempest, @rajjarsalt, @takenstew22 and @asgardianweapon?
We should really just leave it as it is cause human science is to limited to understand stuff like this.

I've learned a bit. This is consistent with the shattering worlds against Gorr and shaking the stars by hitting the Godbomb. Thor's causing spacetime shockwaves akin to a gravitational wave. Makes the feats alot better.
@thor-parker: Seems like Aaron might have just wanted to give a couple OP feats etc. Makes sense since he put Mjolnir at casual planet shattering lvls but Thor has to work his hardest when he's not hitting em directly.
@namelessmonster: Fair but consider that he isn't actually hitting the asteroids tho

True that

Yeah, makes sense.

I mean, again this is assuming that it´s the biggest in the solar system kinda makes the calc a little bit high endish don´t you think? i think a fair mesurament should make a high ball and a lowball version or going by a small-medium sized asteroid
That being said that doesn´take away at all of the feat (not being star level), it´s still an amazing calc and feat ty.
and that being said the stars flicking must be by Thor´s perspective
We should really just leave it as it is cause human science is to limited to understand stuff like this.
