How happy are you about Thor in IW (SPOILERS)
SPOILERS
From some of the clips I've seen it's clear that Thor + Stormbreaker is capable of killing anyone in the MCU except Dormammu, Ego and Surtur due to their size.
The craziest part was when Thanos finally assembled the full Infinity Gauntlet and then Thor lightning blasted him and threw a charged Stormbreaker at him. Even crazier was when Stormbreaker overpowered the friggin' Infinity Gauntlet beam (with all six stones) and proceeded to nearly one shot Thanos. (He would've died if he didn't have the Gauntlet to heal himself)
As a Thor fan that actually made me think I was dreaming or something, cos' there was no way I expected Thor to take on the full Infinity Gauntlet, even if it was in a surprise attack, and only for a little bit.
That and Thor's entrance to Wakanda make me think that Marvel Studios is clearly setting up Thor to be the most powerful Avenger after Captain Marvel.
Like damn, Thor with Stormbreaker is OP.
Amazingly satisfied he got so much screentime he was finally done justice in an Avengers film. His arc was great we get to see the funny side and the rage fueled side
Favourite bits were
- His talk with Rocket about his life that was one of my favourite ever Thor scenes
- When everyone was overwhelmed in Wakanda then he turns up and the tide of the battle turns it gave me chills
- When he ran at them shouting 'BRING ME THANOS' and smacked the hammer into the ground killing hundreds of them also gave me chills
- At the end going at a full IG Thanos and Stormbreaker overpowering the Full IG blast
- "I told you, you die for that"
- He was just amazing in this film I loved it
Just watched the film.
Thor is an absolute monster.
He almost one shots Thanos, overpowers the Infinity Gauntlet beam, destroys a massive alien tower in under 5 seconds (it was the size of a massive skyscraper), saves all of the Avengers from being overwhelmed single-handed, and kills a hundred aliens in a single shockwave style Stormbreaker ground pound.
Oh, also, every Avenger was getting their ass kicked by Thanos, and then Thor just flies in and messes him up. The scene was too short to really appreciate, but in hindsight it hit me just how amazing the feat of nearly killing Thanos when nobody else scratched him was.
Yeah Thor in this film finally did his character justice!
Impressive. They seem to be drawing inspiration from a variety of different comics for this. From infinity, as well as some elements from the current thanos arc with worthy surfer. They made him extremely durable and tank like in addition to extremely powerful lightning, bullrushes, weaponry etc
hoping that they show us the scene in the trailer where thor summons the lightning with RR and groot beside him in awe. >_<
many things in the trailers were not in the movie
sadly yes. but still awesome movie
Supposedly Captain Marvel is going to be fairly top-tier. I'll be interested to see how the Russos have her top MCU Odinforce Thor's IW feats.
- Restarts the machine that keeps a dying star's fusion going (via hurling Rocket's ship really fast / holding onto it)
- Face-Tanks the full force of said star going through him (just to heat the forge that makes his new hammer)for over a minute.
- Casually knocks down giant building-sized ships with new hammer.
- Powers through IG Thanos' attacks and is the only person to actually injure him the entire movie (Iron Man had him bleed, after everyone throws everything they have at him, Thor on the other hand caves in Thanos' chest at his most powerful state).
- Has access to the Bi-Frost (hello dimensional portals!)
He made me aroused and question my own sex.

I’m happy for his amp, sad for all he’s gone through. Just when you think Thor lost everything, he loses some more. His mother, his father, Mjolnir, his hair, his eye, his home world, his people, his best friend, his brother, his revenge on Thanos, then half of the Guardians and Avengers. Dude just keeps broken down and keeps going.
Thor can't beat Dormammu and Thanos.
He can stomp Surtur, Stormbreaker would obliterate Surtur's crown the same way did to that spaceship and Surtur can't hurt Thor after he tanked the full power of a neutron star for several minutes.
And Thor would bust Ego to dust now that he can summon the Bifrost.
@titing2101: It was, he used the lightning cloak when he jumped.

Well yeah, I agree that he can't beat Dormammu, but he did nearly defeat Thanos in one shot even when Thanos had the full IG and launched a beam of it at Thor.
He can't beat Thanos in a fair fight, but he can potentially beat Thanos if he has initiative and lands the first strike.
And upon further consideration you're right. I think Thor could kill a full powered Surtur now too, since all he has to do is call the Bifrost down on Surtur's crown. Same with Ego I agree.
It was a neutron star which is way better.
Yeah with the Bifrost he can teleport, but there's one more thing, he can bust planets now :D
@titing2101: It was, he used the lightning cloak when he jumped.
stormbreaker was present that time. im not sure why they didnt show it when he was fighting thanos on the ship
The thing with Thanos is, if he's going all out, he can just remove anyone from the existence, even Dormammu doesn't stand a chance because he was beat by the Time Stone alone.
But yeah, it's pretty clear Thor could kill Thanos by hitting him in the head with SB.
It's irrelevant if he had SB or not, he never used that power even with Mjolnir.
We didn't saw Thor using it in the ship against Thanos because he didn't fight Thanos, the fight was over before the movie begins.
And we saw sparkles of electricity in Thor's hand when he was dying, before he touch SB.

fair point, he might be really exhausted that time, having to defend the ship from BO and Thanos.

Agree with everything here. When he was talked about his age and what he's been through, it was freaking great. As was everything you mentioned. Plus the star feat and all was amazing. I like whole scene with the dwarf as well.
He was a beast.
Most underrated feat was just basically being able to survive in the vacuum of space. Besides the whole lightning thing, this made him look like a god among men. Twirling the space pod like it was nothing and using the momentum to power the star (and subsequently tank the heat of a star) was epic as well.
Oh, and "Bring...Me...THANOS!"
Oh Thor is a God due to this movie. Let me spit some numbers because I love too.
If you took the output of a Neutron star and calculated it. As they did herehttp://astronomy-by-kyle.blogspot.com/2012/09/neutron-stars-formation-mass-and-size.html
You get that 13.7 Sextillion Megatons of force per second. Meaning he tanked a monstrous amount of energy and heat in that one feat. Even for 1 second of exposure that is far beyond anything we have seen prior that I can think of.
But, BTW, there's no such thing as "Odin Force" or "Thor Force" in the MCU. It was never mentioned anywhere. I don't get why comic fans on forums refer to it as such.
It’s still going to be arguable if he can beat hela, but he can beat surtur now with the bifrost, just needs to take off his crown or head...
But even with everyone’s upgrades, thor can solo the avengers except strange, and can beat all the villains except dormammu and possibly hela.
It’s crazy how big of a upgrade he received.
I am very happy with Thor in IW. But why is he more powerful than in Ragnarok? I know that weapons in the MCU are more powerful than people with power, but does Stormbreaker channels better his power than Mjolnir?
@beastmonster: I already saw Infinity War twice and I didn't read your spoiler private messages before I watched it so you can stop tagging me in those PM's. Thanks for trying to save me money though. Hopefully I was able to save you money from the advice I gave you awhile ago.
