As awesome as the writers let him be. Mighty Thor and AvX didn't really let him be all that awesome.

When he gets good writers like Walt Simonson, JMS, Kieron Gillen and Dun Jurgens, awesome. When he gets Matt Fraction, Bendis, not so awesome. But the character himself is definitely awesome for sure.

Thor is just a badass, God of Thunder is the only run I'm looking forward to in Marvel NOW! - Not only that, but were lucky Chris Hemsworth didn't f*ck him up in live action :)

Just because Thor uses his hammer in all battles, it doesn't mean that he is weaker without it. If you have a weapon, you may use it; that's what Thor does.
