Full Images Of Chris Hemsworth As Thor
Back in April we saw the first image of Hemsworth dressed up as Thor. That looked pretty cool. These images that Collider got a hold of, in my opinion, don't look as good. I know they're only test shots but something just feels off. I don't know if it's just that it looks too CG or if Mjolnir looks a little weird.
Looking closely at Thor's costume, it also looks a little too modern for what I would picture Asgardians wearing. The chainmail underneath is cool but his torso, pants and boots look too...new. The question is, how accurate are these images? Is this the final look that Thor will have in the movie?
== TEASER ==
Again, I'm hoping these are just test shots. It looks like Thor just walked out the local Asgardian clothes shop. There's not a single mark or scuff on his boots. He almost looks too fancy for an Asgardian warrior.
What do you think of these shots? Does the costume still look cool to you? What do you think of Mjolnir's blue glow? Hopefully it won't always be glowing. That could make things harder if Thor has to be sneaky in the middle of the night. Either way, I am excited to see how this movie will turn out. The excitement over Iron Man has worn off. Let's see more of the next Marvel movie already.
The newness doesn't really bother me..it doesn't necessarily have to be the first costume/uniform he's been wearing in the Marvel Movie Universe.
Looks cool IMO.
They look kinda weird because they've photoshopped in some special effects. But the costume looks okay, and hey... I still love the rock god hair & beard :)
Looks pretty good to me. Has a bit of a quasi-modern day vibe too it I'll give you that but I like it none the less. I'd rather this than see him dressed like a Viking. Especially when Marvels take on Norse mythology doesn't really correspond to the traditional pantheon of gods worshipped by Vikings and Europeans.
well to be honest, the costume was a bit better than what i have expected... Its not THE best Thor costume, but it's not sour either... with good acting I think he can very much pull it off! :) crossing my fingers though!
From the waist up the costume is okay, but there just seems to be something off about the pants and boots. I dont know it doesnt scream Norse God.
Doesn't look bad, but maybe this is the version he will be wearing when he gets banished to Earth? Maybe on Asgard he will wear something different.
Looks good but remember, these are just drawings which is why it is so crisp. We can tell from the last image released that it won't be as "neat" as shown here. The lighting will not be drawn like they are doing an action figure. I also think that these are illustrator images so they can scale it to size for whatever they need. Thats why it looks too modern because they didn't age it.
but he is also a prince as well as a warrior. There's not a single mark or scuff on his boots. He almost looks too fancy for an Asgardian warrior.
maybe it's what he'll be wearing on earthit also looks a little too modern for what I would picture Asgardians wearing.
maybe thats what it looks like just before a lightning blast and it will look normal when he's not using it.What do you think of Mjolnir's blue glow?
I have to agree with you G-Man it does look a little TOO modern for an Asgardian God. I was hoping they would have some pics of him with his helmet.
I wonder if he will have a helmet because it doesn't seem he will even though that would be cool to see. Possibly it is something he just picks up.
It kind of reminds me of something Doctor Strange would wear for some reason.
@ManuelPrez:
This IS a real pick of him with the hammer. LOL (i take it back lol. Just looked at it harder. concept art. LOL)@renboy94
said:I think theyre going for an "ultimate" thor look. And in the Ultimate Universe he doesnt wear a helmet. Its kind of a mix between 616 and Ultimate." wheres the helmet????he looks different without the helmet..... "
Ultimate Thor
Только русские поняли что на самом деле там не молот был
Only the Russian understood that in fact there was no hammer
Looking at the pictures of the costume, I find myself in agreement with G Man. It does seem to have a "too new, too modern." It is worth remembering that this may not be the final result so there may be room for hope. As for the lack of color, recall the Marvel way for movies and repeat the following scenario after me:
Plebe 1: Uh sir, the costumes in the comics had much more color than these movie costumes.
Evil Costume Designer: Damn the colors! Paint it black and cue the Rolling Stones
is it just me, or it looks like hemsworth's head doesnt beong, like its been photoshopped? there is something off in the shading of his face that is not complementary to the rest, especially his body. also the proportions.otherwise it's cool. probably chris wasnt available for the shoot so they superimposed his face on the model that replaced him. only explanation.

I like it, but I'm hoping this is for the modern day. I'd like the Asgard stuff to be more Vikingy.
I like it. Face it, Thor was going to be hard to pull of visually in a way that doesn't look silly. I think this does an admirable job of bringing Marvel's thunder god to life.
I think it is actually pretty cool as long as the hammer does not glow the entire time and he gets a more "worn" look to his armor.
I imagine his hammer will glow and give a sizzle-like noise when he does things like look intensely into the camera just at the moment of scene change, like on the old 80's and early 90's cartoons.
This looks to me like a preproduction shot so they haven't had a chance to add all the little CG look that I would suspect they are looking for. And if its a finished shot, I don't like it, it looks to plastic.
Aside from both the Thor and Cap images having that digitized look to them, the costumes and the images look awesome. I'm really looking forward to seeing the real thing.
Looks cool. I agree that it looks a little modern, but if you read the old Thor comics (Around #300) all the Asgardians wear armor that makes them look more like Galactus' henchmen then Viking gods. Also, the architecture of Asgard has always looked very Space-age, it wasnt until recent issues that they started drawing Asgard as a medieval looking city . Personally, I like the more "medieval viking" looking style in recent Thor comics though...
I think the suit looks good and I can't wait to see it in action
this also adds some validity to yesterday's Captain America costume reveal since they look to be made from the same materials and the design work is similar
I think this looks sweet! every site though is calling these concept images, so not the final look. but still sweet!
i think that since they're test shot's the Costume Thor will wear in the movie will be a bit better than this
