SPOILERS FROM Uncanny Avengers 16 and 17

Uncanny Avengers has had some good feats for Thor in the last two issues:

    • REACTION: Twirls hammer rapidly to block various magic shards from Uriel at short range (Uncanny Avengers 16)
    • MJOLNIR: Blocks Jarnbjorn, an axe capable of slaying Celestials, with Mjolnir (Uncanny Avengers 17)
    • DURABILITY: Tanks a blow from Jarnbjorn to his chest. (Uncanny Avengers 17)

The axe is specifically enchanted to cut through Celestial armour - its not like it does so by virtue of its own intrinsic cutting power so theres no partiular feat for Thor to block it or not be killed by it/

He did it in Uncanny Avengers 16 while pushing Uriel into this portal (idk) which consequently killed him so it must have been powerful:

@killemall, @dondave any idea what Thor was pushing him into?

I think it was quite obviously supposed to be a star. And before the inevitable responses come - no - the fact that Aaron recently had him fight inside a star and survive doesnt mean another writer is going to see things the same way.

He fought inside a star against Atum. - earlier than any of these.

The heat of Firelord for some time and that's>>> than a star.

    Where Mjolnir was forged.

    Inside Surtur's essence.

    Against Gorr.

So Aaron changed things and we also can't know what kind of star is that and her heat.

Hmm, I"ll have to reread the previous issues if there is any indication one way or another.

@fifthchild: Yeah we can't pretend that current writers care at all about character durability and continuity. Each one wants to advance his own ideas and plot and will use the character how he sees fit. Editorial mandates are much, much less stringent than in the classic era.

A bit late on the issue but here are scans from God of Thunder #19, Last days on Midgard part 1

Thor one shots a submarine while saving Agent Solomon and dives into an ocean unphased by the cold tempreture a subzero suit was said to not survive in time. Later on he effortlessly lifts and brings to the Earth the largest mountain in Jotunheim. This should be an indication that he still possesses his strength shown decades ago

@themadsurfer: He has. When the Destroyers Axe released an energy equal to an exploding sun(=Nova), he has a long list in his history of easily surviving both extreme cold and hot temperatures while his durability and healing factor keeps him up, this feat is on the top of the list when it comes to the heat side.

@unbreakable_fs4: The last and second last scan show a glimpse of the mountain and what his lifting is the minimum edge for presumably greater balance. As the context explains, many of Earths ice's were melting due to Global warming and Dario Agger (CEO of an energy corporation called Roxxon) took the job of bringing a small chunk to Alaska which is one of the areas lacking

    No Caption Provided

Notice the line segment differentiating the two parts, keeping in mind its position from the settlement and hill, then Thor arrives after knocking out a frost giant claiming he took it from one of their territories, as shown he throws it opposite to the hellicarrier but again only little is shown. But after Agger leaves you get a much better look of the mountain identified in the background

    No Caption Provided

An estimation of 200,000 tons? Maybe bigger.

One must be a millionaire to by a house that big

This investigation required alot of matching scans with scans cause there were two other mountains presented in the background throughout the comic which had to be taken out of the picture by a finding a unique aspect, and there were only 3 scans with Thor's mountain on it and this is the only one that can be quantified but not approximately.

@unbreakable_fs4: Ribic's one of the finest artists working in Marvel as of now, its great to have him do Thor.

And you're currently on one of the greatest stories to ever be written for the Odinson, take your time reading it.

@experio: The largest mountain of all Jotunheim is for sure heavier than 200.000 tons . They simply don't show a nice picture of the mountain simple as that. If you see previous issues Thor offered to take an iceberg out of the way and that Iceberg seemed much bigger than this mountain, and a mountain especially the largest of Jotunheim is bigger than any huge Iceberg.

@themadsurfer: I do believe it weighs more and I did originally plan to quantify the mass of the mountain through comparison by looking for an even larger mountain in Jotunheim from previous books but this method seemed more reliable. Is there any chance you have the scan of the iceberg?

@phisigmatau: @themadsurfer: Spoilers from God of Thunder #20

Their confrontation was mostly talk, but at-least its not 2 panels. I'm sure the next issue will show alot more action, and judging from the scans I think its safe to say King Thor isn't gonna win. As good as tanking a blast from Galactus is, he could hardly climb a cliff without Mjolnir, don't know how much of a role the Thor-force will play.
