Each week we take a close look at a comic book collectible. That means taking it out of the package. I'll admit, I'm a little backed up with some figures waiting to be featured. With Avengers: Age of Ultron on its way to another successful weekend at the box office, we decided this would be a great time to check out the Thor figure from the Marvel Legends Infinite series.

This is part of the All Father Build-a-Figure series. We've previously looked at the Scarlet Witch figure and the Captain Marvel one. The other figures in the line include Iron Fist, Machine Man, Sentry, and Hawkeye.

Like the other figures from Marvel Legends, it's a pretty solid and hefty figure. It's what you would expect for a Thor figure. He's supposed to be a big tough dude, right? Along with Mjolnir, he comes with a sword (Odinsword?) and an Odin leg.

The sword looks okay but Mjolnir is pretty solid.

A lot of people might be getting used to the Chris Hemsworth version of Thor. You can see from this figure's face, he's not concerned too much about his pretty looks. He's a warrior and it's like he sniffing out the dirty rats that might be around.

In case anyone was wondering, his helmet does not come off.

The Marvel Legends figures have a lot of articulation. He has a pretty good sculpt. Obviously joints can be seen but they're not too distracting. My pet peeve is when figures have the 'stomach articulation' that leaves a big visible seam.

Another great thing is the fact that this figure can stand on its own. Even when holding his mighty hammer.

The detail on the figure is impressive. You can see his bulging veins. His cape and helmet also look really good. It would've been easy to just have a bunch of smooth surfaces but they did add a good amount of variety to simulate the different textures.

The same can be said about his legs and boots. They could have gone with smoother 'pants' but added the look of his armor. You are paying around twenty bucks for these figures so it's important you feel you get your money's worth.

The little serial number on his cape makes he chuckle a little. It's like he left the price tag on a new cape. I do have the say the paint job for the gloves on his hands bothers me a little. But that's just nitpicking. It's not a huge deal.

If you really want to make him look mighty, have him wield both the hammer and the sword (which he can do without toppling over).

This has a pretty good line of figures. There's been some great variety with the different characters included. There has been some talk about the lack of female characters in merchandise and while there may have been five male figures, at least we had two females instead of the sometimes usual single female figure.

If you're going to have a Thor figure, an Asgardian god, you want him to be nice and solid. He should make a nice addition to the rest of your collection, if you haven't already picked him up.

That's all the pics we have for this week. We'll have another item featured next time. Let us know what you think of this figure.

Wow, Mjolnir looks amazing, but its awesomeness kinda makes the sword look really cheap. No texture at all. I loooove that the knee flares hide the joint at the front. Brilliant of them. And the cloth wrinkles are really impressive on his shirt. Especially on his chest and in the loose bit at the bottom. But while I like all the wrinkles in the cape, the texture makes it look like a fruit roll up.

This is my second favorite of this line after the amazing Captain Marvel with versions of the heads with or without the mask.

I have the previous Marvel Legends Thor and this looks pretty much like they used the same figure with different arms and an updated helmet design and repaint. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I'm less inclined to have much interest if it's roughly 85% the same as a figure I already own. Looks good though.

If I can track down Iron Fist and decide I want Machine Man, I'll be able to make the All Father!

    This Thor looks pretty boss.

@donmeca2020: And it's much much more accurate to Esad Ribic's art. And it comes with a spinning Mjolnir accessory.

WAIT WAIT WAIT!!! Why is Thor a MAN!? Isnt it so incredibly sexist that theyre taking this brilliant new female character and gender bending her in order to sell toys? For shame Marvel. For shame.

Yeah, had the same thought when I saw the sword... apparently someone thinks Asgard and Greyskull are interchangeable, or someone's idea of a joke.

This figure is great but we just had an awesome Thor figure not terribly long ago. While I don't mind updates I would prefer getting characters who have never had the Marvel Legends treatment before, (Nighthawk for example), or are in desperate need of an update, (Luke Cage).

    However thanks for the offer.

Nothing a bit of paint can't fix.
