Final Issue is a Bit of a Letdown
I must admit, the final issue of Thor: For Asgard is a bit of a letdown. It seems pretty clear that Rob Rodi was going for a hard, sudden, cold ending, like he did so successfully with Loki. The problem is it isn't nearly as effective here. Having built up a great head of steam with a mysterious enemy and an endless winter plaguing Asgard, a cold ending here comes across more like a lack of resolution. There are just too many unanswered questions. Its as if either Rodi painted himself into a corner, or there was more to the story, but Marvel wouldn't commit to any more issues.
Whatever the case, I still wouldn't discourage anyone from reading it. Thor: For Asgard may not be quite as good as the Matt Fraction ancient Asgard Tales, but it's still better than a lot of comics - even Thor comics.
