Thor vs. Herc round 3!
Let's face it, if there's one thing Jack "King" Kirby was good at, it was drawing knock-down-drag-out super brawls, and that's exactly what we have here. Anyone who was disappointed with the abbreviated battle between the Son of Odin and the Son of Zeus in the Journey into Mystery Annual may find what they were really looking for here.
And, what's even better is that this fight not only occupies the majority of the issue, there's also a definite ending, with an actual victor - though there were some extenuating circumstances, as to be expected.
So, if you like non-stop punches, motor vehicles being tossed around like footballs, sound effects in inch-high lettering, and gods who punctuate each blow with a soliloquy and refer to themselves in third person - this is the comic for you!
In truth, it would have rated at least another half star if it weren't for the fact that the backup story pulls a 180 and tells us that the quest the Asgardians have been on for the past half dozen issues has been a wild goose chase and Odin calls them back to Asgard.
