An average witcher story.
Before you read, keep in mind that my star rating system, 3 stars is a worth reading comic, so 2 stars isn't that bat. Also keep in mind that some people really loves the book, so feel free to disagree with me.
Well, first of all, I'm a big witcher fan; I've read the books and played all the games.I saw this comicbook on sale and I've never read them, so it was an obivous choice to get it. I thought I would love this as I love the world of The witcher but all i got was dissapointment.
First of all, one of the main problem with this comic in my opinion is the pacing. It's confunsing to understand what is happening in the scene. In a moment, you see Geralt and Ciri wandering through Redania and in the next moment, they've already completed a mission. I understand why this was made but It's confusing because there isnt and kind of clue for what the write is trying to do. All these wandering + completed mission + bath is the main theme of this comic, trying to again remind the readers what does a witcher do.
The two main themes of curse of crows is, yet again, the independence of ciri and the Striga but a big problem with this volume is that in the issue #3, Yennefer completely forgets all that they've been through and makes the two main plot of the comic go litteraly backwards. I don't think this is the Geralt and Yennefer that I love, Yennefer being one of my favorite characters of all, feels more like how witcher 3 players see her, and not how She really is in the game or She really is in the books.
I think this serie should be a 3 issue thing: Beginning, middle conflict and end, but where it was to be an middle, the series goes back to the beginning and in the and, It's nothing less than a pointless plot about characters out of character reapeating the same arc told before.
Apart from that, the art itself is quite nice; reminds me a lot from the games althought some panels are... odd.
