    Dead Good

I know this series has been running some time now, but I`d never read any until I got hold of this collection one afternoon. The story takes place some time after a zombie apocolypse - yep, the dead have risen to feast on the living. As I say, the series has been running some time already, but the plot is such (group of strangers band together in a world of zombies) that new readers won`t have any bother picking up the thread.
The thing about `The Walking Dead` is, or certainly this collection, is that the zombies don`t play much of a part in events. We, as readers, are aware of them, and the dangers they pose - and they do pop up occasionally - but this comic has other issues.
This is about the psychological impact of the world turning to shit, danger around every corner, starvation and loneliness.
I don`t want to give away spoilers here, but I`ll say that the greatest danger to the central characters in Fear the Hunters, isn`t the zombies, it`s the fellow survivors of the disaster. There`s a couple of great shock moments.

I was very impressed with this.
It`s black and white, but that`s not so bad - again, the comic is not a visual gore-fest (although there are certainly gory moments) but a well written thought-provoking horror.
Very good. I`ll be reading more...
