    And so, it begins... 1

This is fast becoming one of my favourite titles, and I just had to check out the opener - So, the first installment of what is to become (if it isn`t already) a classic horror comic series... Injured in the line of duty, policeman Rick Grimes wakes in a deserted hospital - deserted of the living, that is - after a near escape from a canteen full of zombies, Rick cycles home. His house is deserted but he does bump into two other survivors, Morgan Jones and small son, Duane, who put him in the pi...

    Brilliant! 0

Just a short little review for the first issue that started it all; The Walking Dead #1 is brilliant. SPOILER WARNING: Click here to reveal hidden content. The story starts with Rick Grimes, a policeman, awaking to a zombie apocalypse after being shot while on duty. Zombies are the only things that greet him after coming out of his coma. The hospital is barren. The town he knows is empty, except of the walking dead. Rick returns to his home to find his family absent. His neighbors house is being...

    Brilliant Comic Book 0

To be quite honest I thought this comic book would be boring due to over used zombie stories. Although, after reading the first couple of issues I was hooked! For any one hesitating to pick this on up just give in! Kirkman does a really great job and developing the characters and allowing you to grow to like them. He also does not hold back of the atrocity that would arise from such situation....

    Koz's Comic Flashback 0

If you do not read this series there  is something seriously wrong with you. this series is not your typical zombie let me eat your brains all out blood and gore. It is a character driven book and throughout the series there are many charaters that come and go and you will be upset when one of your favorite characters dies. I feel that this is Robert Kikmans best work yet. I love the Walking Dead and I hope it never ends. I picked up issue #1(a reprint) for free on Free Comic Book Day. Now it h...

The Walking Dead begins with a crawl 0

The Walking Dead is one of the best on-going survival horror comics I've read. Not often is the concept of a long term zombie out-break explored such as in Walking Dead. One valid complaint throughout the series could be an imbalanced zombie to character development ratio, but sometimes the sweet carnage of the undead comes second to our group of survivors.  The premiere issue starts similarly to the film 28 Days Later (this is merely coincidence, as both titles were being written around the sam...

Days gone bye, as I'm too engrossed to stop. 0

A perfect introduction to a new series. Rick Grimes deputy sheriff suddenly ambushed, shot and sent into a coma. Wakes up to discover a nightmare, the world he new is gone. Replaced by a fouler, crueller world infested with Walkers and everyone and thing he holds dear is presumed dead. The colour scheme of black and white is amazing showing more brutality than colour could by presenting this bleak, hopeless world as dull and transparent. Writing is amazing, dialogue between characters outstandin...

Overrated in more ways than one 0

Of course many first issues start off slow, mainly want to introduce characters, and get the reader used to the world, but TWD #1 takes that to an extreme. The main character Rick Grimes is a former town Sheriff that is injured in the line of duty and put into the hospital, when he eventually awakens he finds that the world he once knew has moved on. Zombies are rampant throughout his town, his family is nowhere to be found, and the entire town looks to have been abandoned for at least 10 years....

The Walking Dead Issue #1 Review 0

Robert Kirkman created this brilliant series called The Walking Dead. The world we know and live in is overrun by zombies. Technology is useless. We must finally start living. In Issue #1, we are introduced to very little of the characters that are in The Walking Dead universe. Rick Grimes: A cop with a wife and a kid who wakes up in a hospital after getting shot. Morgan Jones and his son Duane: Two survivors trying to live in this world. Shane: Rick's partner.Even though there isn't much going ...
