Peter has an alarm that goes "GNRRRRR"

Within most of the comics of the Spectacular Spiderman series, there's alot of this.
Within most of the comics of the Spectacular Spiderman series, there's alot of this.

An old issue that has many old school Spiderfans remember the classic times and adventures of our beloved and struggling hero, Spider Man. Due to the fact that the cover promised us of seeing a fight between Nitro and Spiderman, there was no reason why I would turn this issue away and try to give it an overdue review and some details of what’s inside. Now I know that Nitro isn’t on many comicfans number 1 list, but it was kinda rare seeing Spiderman finding himself taking up a new villain challenge with somebody else’s antagonist. So with the Web-slinger going toe to toe with the human powder keg, let’s see if this issue is as much promising as it’s own cover.

Of course, within this comic you start to get the feeling that the storyline is so similar to a soap opera. Interactions and seeing the personal lives of our favorite heroes are very nice ingredients for a storyline, until the story slowly drags itself as we see just about each issue tends to focus further away from the action and more onto Peter’s attempt to catch a proper date with Debbie Whitman.

    Love and tears

So comes Nitro’s part within this issue, and I must say that I love how his appearance gained a lot of attention from me when going against Spiderman, besides one problem that I felt that the writer definitely flopped on, and that’s how the writer got Nitro involved within the storyline.

Out of all the dumbass moments I’ve seen in comics, I nearly found myself cracking up on one scene where Project Pegasus releases Nitro by court orders shown by some cheesy lawyer demanding his release and placed into custody within the care of his daughter. Free and obviously pissed off, it’s the one scene where Nitro begins to glow and the scientist who released the villain clearly mentions that he knows what the glowing means when he’s standing five feet away.

    And BOOOOOOOOOOOOM.

I’m sorry, but that scientist who knew what Nitro was capable of doing when releasing the maniac to roam free is about the dumbest moron I've ever seen in comics. That and Peter’s alarm going “GNRRRRR” was the two reasons why this comic seemed to lack proper attention and detail, even for what it was trying to be.

Besides those two outlandish moments, this is one issue that I suggest reading when getting the chance, I would say go buy it. But seeing how this is just a predictable Spiderman fight ( with the cruelest ways to gain a victory ) and with the two overlooked problems that has this comic going on a bumpy flow, I wouldn’t say it’s something exciting to read or probably worth the time unless your absolutely bored like I was .
