    A Fantasy Masterpiece 2

    If there's one thing we learn from The Sandman, it's that the great stories are immortal. The fact that this quasi-retelling of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' won a World Fantasy Award for Best Short Fiction in 1991 is testament to that. The story concerns The Bard fulfilling a bargain with the Lord of Dreams with a special performance, and the Lord of Dreams using it as an opportunity to repay the fay folk for entertaining him over the years.
