Klovis of House Cawdor is a fanatical, psychopathic priest from the Redemptionist doctrine in the Hive World of Necromunda. The Redemptionists are considered lunatic zealots even by the most hardcore followers of the mainstream Imperial faith, which even in its normal form is fundamentalist death cult. The name comes from the belief that one can only be redeemed of sin in death, and that very nearly everything is a sin. The standard Imperial faith focus their hatred on witches, mutants and aliens. But for Redemptionists, sin exists in every creature, which can be purged only through bloodshed. They are considered so radical that they are officially banned in some worlds, put in the same bracket as heretics. A testament to how vile they are that even the highly xenophobic, fundamentalistic Imperials consider them to pose as much as a threat than many outsider enemies.

Necromunda is the homeworld of the Redemption doctrine, which is considered the official religion through House Cawdor's influence. Klovis is the most notorious Redemptionist in the whole planet fighting against hordes of heretics and aliens, purging both the unfaithful and the pious, leaving the God-Emperor of Mankind know who is his own. He is absolutely merciless to all around him, not even his own men are safe from his wrath - going as far as to eviscerate one of his followers for not keeping his own equipament clean. He takes absolute delight in torturing and murdering, with his battle cry being "SCOURGE AND PURGE".
