    Yes... He is an idiot

We continue this truly excellent miniseries with The Ray fighting big ass flying Stingrays. The action is really solid and Lucien's dialogue is really funny just like it was last time. Then we get the story of how Lucien royally screwed up with meeting his girlfriends parents. It was previously established that The Ray could bend light to change his appearance. It was also previously established that his girlfriend Chanti's parents had a problem with her dating anyone who wasn't Indian like them. So, trying to be a good boyfriend, he makes himself look like an Indian boy. Gee, this can't backfire at all can it? Oh wait, yes it can and yes it does. Chanti has now stopped calling him and her parents are on the verge of disowning her. We get a sense that Lucien feels bad, but there's nothing he can do. We then see some narration captions from who I assume is evil Spielberg from the last issue. He talks about how the Ray will be the protagonist of hi film and wants the opening act to be an alien invasion flick. Lucien's friend Darius talks to Chanti about how much Lucien cares about her and how she should forgive him. Chanti is still pissed but she clearly shares Lucien's feelings. Then there's an alien invasion. This is probably part of evil Spielberg's power but it's never explicitly stated. They're apparently trying to harvest our women and they speak english. Lucien even states their like something out of a bad sci-fi flick. Yup, definitely the work of evil Spielberg. Anyways, the "Aliens" take Chanti, and the issue ends with Ray charging after her.

    What Works:

The dialogue is still hilarious and never forced. We get a bit more insight into how the Ray's power's work, the story starts to take more shape, we learn more about the supporting cast and they continue to be entertaining. Pretty much everything I loved last time. This is the superhero book I've been waiting for my whole life.

    What Doesn't:

This isn't quite as strong as last issue and we don't see the hippie parents in the book. Too bad, they were my favorite characters in the last issue. Other than that not too much to complain about.

    Overall:

    4.5/5

This series is simply amazing. I love all of these characters and I'm loving the hilarious dialogue. Why in the name all things sacred is this not an ongoing. This is some of the best stuff DC has put out in years. This should have been one of the New 52, but nope gotta make room for Crap like Red Hood and the Outlaws, Hawk and Dove or Suicide Squad, because, lord knows reading about Jason freaking Todd bragging about having sex with an out of character Starfire, seeing the oh so great art of a Rob Leidfeld, or enjoying the gross mischaracterization of one of the greatest and most popular DC villainesses, is just so god damn necessary. DC, I ask you, no I implore you, Make this into an ongoing, I beg of you.

I love this mini more and more every issue that goes on. It’s what any superhero book should be (or at least a teen superhero book), if it was going to be this good it should had been part of the new 52 instead of a mini (let’s be honest, many tittles right now do not deserve to be around when fun and unique ones end up being just minis). And what does the new Ray face against in this issue? Giant flying blue devil rays, English speaking aliens that kidnap women and his girlfriend's parents!! Wh...

THE GOODThe art is fantastic. I believe they were going for "50's Horror Film" as the theme, especially with the use of that font in the bottom right of the cover. I have to say, most of the issue was hokey and tame just like a 50s horror film, so I guess they hit their mark.I have enjoyed the way they reveal his various powers to the audience. It feels like we are learning his powers, right along with him - not exactly subtle, but it works. I was especially surprised to see that he has mastered...
