Daredevil pulls Punisher’s fat from the fire after the vigilante gets a deadly dose of Montoya’s poison. But how will Jason Hunt escape the mobster’s grasp? Plus, the origin of Hector Montoya. Who is the mastermind responsible for a trail of death as bloody as it is wide?
Opening where the last issue left off, The Punisher is slowly losing consciousness as he lies drugged, incapacitated on the ground encircled by three thugs he had previously beaten up. Two of the three though manage to injury themselves with Castle's ballistic knife and the third believes he has killed Castle by firing several shots into his chest, not knowing Castle is wearing kevlar body armour which saves his life. Daredevil, who had been previously tailing Castle, rescue's Castle and returns him to his safe house to recover. Both Hector Montoya and Jason Hunt meanwhile have returned home and as Hector mixes together another batch of his deadly chemical drug the police have started to suspect he might be behind a series of mysterious deaths which have been recently occurring to men who Montoya has a history with.
Montoya knowing Jason's address from his driving license sets off to murder Hunt in order to ensure both his and his families safety. Castle having recovered somewhat from Hector's drugging heads to Hunt's house to check on him arriving shortly after Hector does. Montoya and Castle begin fighting as the police arrive at the house also. Montoya spilling his own chemical formula on himself attempts to rush home to see his family one more time before his inventible death but is shot down as he runs towards the police. Frank meanwhile returns to his safe house to recover from the various recent encounters he has had with Montoya.
