After being released from prison for killing his family, Zaire becomes outspokenly against the use of Surrogates and generates a cult following in support of the elimination of Surrogates from human society. It is during this time that he meets Xavier (his future right hand man) and demands that his followers should be given a piece of land where they can live without the interference of Surrogates.

Zaire is murdered by Steeplejack and Xavier rallies his followers to raid the city and destroy all Surrogate technology.

The Prophet preaches that mankind must not experience life through surrogate androids anymore. In order to accomplish that goal, he's willing to do anything to change society's point of view about the subject.
