On the remote island of Mehndria, five warring city-states are forced to come together to face a common enemy: giant mysterious mechs. These robotic invaders show up without warning, destroying everything in their path. Then, right before wiping out the entire civilization, the mechs all power down for no clear reason, leaving the survivors to rebuild their world together.
Eight hundred years later. The world has moved on. The city-states are now united as one nation: a land littered with massive robotic relics that serve as monuments to a long-forgotten war.
Our story is told in two intertwined time periods.
The present - After emerging from a newly powered-up centuries dormant mech, an enigmatic man, Eirest, is discovered by Nera, the owner of a bar located underneath one of the massive mechs. Nera is determined to help Eirest get home. Shortly after meeting, they find themselves on the run from a militarized religious order who have obsessively monitored the mechs since they first powered down and will stop at nothing to obtain Eirest and learn the secrets of the monuments.
The past - After the destructive mechs powered down, Sir Chester and a ragtag band of knights from the warring city-states work together to investigate the mysterious origin of these mechs. They journey through a devastated land towards the isolated city-state Branholm, only to find more dangerous machinations and diabolical plots along the way.
