Kind of a letdown after the first few issues
This is the weakest entry so far in The Man of Steel miniseries - and it's still better than most of its contemporaries. As you can probably guess from the cover, this issue features the reboot of Bizarro. Once again John Byrne does a great job - the art is excellent, some of the best in the series, and his explanation for the creation of Bizarro seems both true to his original origin, and updated enough to be believable in a more modern context.
Now the downside. Lois Lane's sister appears in this issue merely as a plot device. She's stricken with a malady, and in the end Bizarro may or may not have sacrificed himself in order to cure her - something that stretches credibility a few different ways - for one thing, the concept of it curing her at all seems goofy, given what has happened to her. Then the fact that he could get enough of himself into her eyes via his destruction (the cure) seems like a million-to-one shot, and lastly the fact that Superman couldn't figure it out, but Bizarro, who is portrayed as not as bright as Superman could just doesn't sit well.
Still, better than average and definitely worth checking out.
