    Shadow Monster

This issue had promise. Mostly excellent writing by Len Wein, some interesting story elements and a good ending. But it was hopelessly bogged down by a crappy shadow monster villain. Otherwise a good issue. Other than that, there is an interesting letter in the letters column. A reader was talking about Wolverine (who had just made his first appearance a few issues ago), and how he would like him to be a member of the upcoming X-Men reboot, and that he had potential to be a very "complex" character. Looking back, he was eerily on point.
