Writer James Robinson brought the Justice Society of America back into the spotlight in this 4 issue collaboration with acclaimed X-men artist Paul Smith. The first of several critically prised efforts involving Robinson and the heroes of the 1940s, this Elseworlds series chronicled life behind the scenes for the All Star Squadron, and detailed the corruption of former hero Dan the Dynamite, then his change into the villainous Dynaman. With realistic characterization and cinematic storytelling techniques, The Golden Age broke new ground and helped elevate its author to the realm of comic book star.

Collected in JSA: The Golden Age: Deluxe Edition.
