    Short summary describing this character.

Link Thorne was a tough as nails independent flier for hire working in Shanghai just after the war, with the only thing going for his bare-bones outfit, Blockbuster Air Service, being his determination, his sharp, resourceful, and tough Shanghai native secretary Wing-Ding, and the fact that there is almost no job Link will not take.

"Will fly anything. anywhere, anytime --- it it's worth my time." being his moto.

Created, written and drawn by Simon and Kirby, Link Thorne was plainly their play on the then popular pilot stories as exemplified by Milton Caniff's very popular Steve Canyon.

While there were only a bit over a dozen of these 8 page stories they have some of the tightest writing and best art of the Golden-Age work of Simon & Kirby.
