The Evil Eye was a cad, villain and blackguard who led Scotland Yard on a merry chase in the English countryside starting in 1949.
An inventor, the masked rotter had devised a hand held device that could emit four rays, a green beam that paralyzed, a yellow one that hypnotized people into doing his bidding, a black ray that blinded those it was turned on, and a red beam that could dissolve steel in seconds.
Setting out on a crime spree that started out at mere petty theft, he soon graduated to grand larceny, and eventually murder.
