Ms. Marvel seeks the help of the Defenders when she has a vision that shows all of them are in trouble.
In a flashback, we see that Ms. Marvel appeared as an image arising from the Orb of Agamotto some months ago. The Hulk, seeing it, was reminded of his battle with her, and his battle with Captain Marvel, and goes wild. Dr. Strange and Valkyrie finally manage to restrain him.
Back in the present, Carol Danvers' psychiatrist, Michael Barnett (who knows her identity as Ms. Marvel), mulls over the problematic fact that he loves her. Arthur Shaman shows up and hypnotizes Barnett to come with him.
Patsy Walker and Kyle Richmond come back from a night on the town to discover Ms. Marvel in his apartment. She tells them that her seventh sense has warned her of an attempt on the lives of the Defenders.
Shaman works with AIM scientists to get revenge on Ms. Marvel for her recent raid on AIM's headquarters. They use brainwashing techniques to get him to tell them about her deepest fears--being killed by the Hulk.
AIM sends a robot to attack the Defenders and kidnap the Hulk so they can use him against Ms. Marvel. The robot, named Warbot, quickly defeats Hulk, Valkyrie, and Clea, and takes Hulk away in a block of ice. Nighthawk, who was trying to contact the Defenders in regard to Ms. Marvel's warning, sees Warbot leaving in a ship and follows; Ms. Marvel and Hellcat catch up.
They attack AIM's base. Ms. Marvel destroys the Warbot, and Hellcat and Nighthawk defeat the AIM scientists and Shaman.
They rescue Barnett, and discuss how the old appearance of Ms. Marvel in the Orb of Agamotto must have been a strange connection between her seventh sense and the magic of the Orb.
