    That's it folks....

So in the 80's there was a story that was called Dark Knight Returns. Written by Frank Miller it told a story of now retired Batman that goes back to glory!!! According to that story one of the main reasons why Batman retired was because Robin (Jason Todd) was KIA. Some years later Jim Starlin wrote another story Death in the Family, in which after discovering that he was really adopted Jason Todd goes on a journey around the world to search for his mother and he eventually finds her, but She sold him out to Joker. Joker beats him to a pulp with a Crowbar and leaves him to die with a Bomb in some warehouse. That story is considered classic by many Including Me. Now we have a Frank Miller/Brian Azzarello version. Story wise is pretty simple. Bruce with Selina thinks about finally letting cape down to for some reason Jason (seriously I don't get why he isn't contacting Dick Grayson, I don't care about Strikes Again there was no good reason why not to). In the meantime Joker is captured, escapes from Arkham and plans something, Batman and Robin stop a robbery, resolves a hostage situation and fights with Poison Ivy and Killer Croc. That's it. It may sound sound that many things happen in this story but really no. Pros for this story is that we see older more brooding Batman, which was really a let down durning DKR. There his fight with Mutant Leader was really a let down, even a older Batman shoudn't use only his strenght. Another good point that He's in the relationship with Selina Kyle which I was really a shipper. Last good thing I grant is the artwork by John Romita Jr. Its really reminiscent of the DKR artwork, but shading and inking kinda gives dusty filter. I don't know, for me Its just looking worse. The main problem with the story Is that well It's not really a ,,Last Crusade" as I mentioned Its more like DitF but from the perspective of Batman. Jason is written just like he was in the Bronze Age. Not listening, more like a brat, hell I think He killed one guy and the other chop off his arm with Batarang. I gonna be honest, I never liked Jason Todd. Not as Robin, Not as Red Hood but a least in DitF I felt sad when he died. Here I don't care. And also there are some stupid interludes like ,,Mother against Batman" or other bullcrap. If you see this on some abatement you could buy it, but don't expect something great just ok.

So…after many a delay, this book finally came out today. First the good: The artwork is great. Romita and Steigerwald did a great job in upholding the legacy with a book like this that’s somewhat meant to act as a prequel to the infamous The Dark Knight Returns. As for the story, it’s just ‘okay.’ Again, following suit with the continuity of TDKR universe there are the familiarities from TDKR, The Dark Knight Strikes Again, and the current Master Race story line s...

Oh, love The Dark Knight Returns? Here’s Dark Knight Strikes Again! gone is all the restraint and methodology of its predecessor and replaced with a perpetual psychedelic trip into sheer grinning madness. Still want more DC?
